Music is powerful. It speaks the language of emotions. It triggers feelings, picks us up when we are down, and has the ability to heal. For most patients going through infertility treatment, music has the ability to help heal souls, and as a result, we’ve created a fertility playlist.
“Music has healing power. It has the ability to take
people out of themselves for a few hours.”
Music expresses different feelings. A slow-tempo song may help us connect to and work through sadness in our lives, while a more upbeat tune may represent courage and hope and help us celebrate a victory. Songs mimic our emotions in real life – through the introduction, the build-up, the crescendo, and finally, in the closure or resolution of a piece.
“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on
which it is impossible to be silent.”
Music allows us to reflect on our past and to help process our feelings, allowing us to communicate, even when words just aren’t possible. Further, it allows us to gather our thoughts, and in times of distress, lyrics seem magically written for each of us alone.
“Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed
in this world, then it can only happen through music.”
Below we’ve created our very own fertility playlist to help hopeful parents through life’s most difficult moments, to inspire, and yes, we’ve even included one of our favorite songs at the very end of the list, one to help celebrate the joy of success.
Rachel Platten | The Fight Song
GooGoo Dolls | Iris
Christina Perri | A Thousand Years
Miley Cyrus | The Climb
Elton John | I’m Still Standing
